The performance of PAC largely depends on its basicity (B value), which represents the ratio of hydroxyl ions (OH⁻) to aluminum ions (Al³⁺).

Low-basicity PAC (B < 50%) — suitable for acidic water

Medium-basicity PAC (B = 50–70%) — for general-purpose treatment

High-basicity PAC (B = 70–90%) — ideal for alkaline, high-temperature, and high-turbidity water

High-basicity PAC typically appears light yellow to golden, reacts faster, forms larger flocs, and remains stable even under high temperatures.
