Ferrous sulfate as a coagulant has the advantages of large coagulation particles, good hydrophobicity, fast sedimentation, good color removal effect, low cost of treatment agent, and is suitable for wastewater treatment with pH value above 8.5. But how to determine the dosage of ferrous sulfate in wastewater treatment?
Gongyi Filter Industry Co.,Ltd reminds everyone that the dosage of ferrous sulfate in sewage treatment can be determined according to the following aspects: 1. It can be added according to past experience; 2. It can be added gradually according to the change of water quality and quantity; 3. The dosage of ferrous sulfate can be determined through beaker experiment. The experimental method to determine the dosage is undoubtedly the most accurate, the most economical and the least wasteful one.
Generally, ferrous sulfate is added by wet method in water treatment. This method is to dissolve ferrous sulfate and put it into water quantitatively. It can be applied continuously or intermittently. The main functions of ferrous sulfate in wastewater treatment are advanced wastewater treatment and sludge conditioning, and its dosing position can be divided into two situations. During advanced wastewater treatment, ferrous sulfate is added to advanced treatment tank, secondary sedimentation tank or coagulation pipeline. If biochemical method with microbial treatment is adopted, ferrous sulfate coagulant cannot be added before biochemical tank.
In the practical application of wastewater treatment, the coagulating effect of ferrous sulfate or polymerized ferric sulfate can be increased by adding lime and polyacrylamide as coagulant aids.
